nucleotide - molecules that are the building blocks of nucleic acids, like DNA


DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) - the cell's instructions for development, survival and reproduction


chromosome - long thread of coiled DNA; one from each parent


GINA Act (Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act) - passed by congress in 2008 to prohibit employers or insurance companies from using your genetic information to discriminate against you
