China embraces precision medicine on a massive scale

According to the international weekly journal of science, Nature, it has been said (2010) that BGI, a genome sequencing institution in China has more sequencing capacity than the entirety of the United States. When then accounting for the hundreds of separate genome-sequencing efforts to be undertaken around China, one can only imagine the country's role and impact on the revolutionary area of personalized medicine. 

China and its top sequencing players aim to be at the forefront of a multi-billion dollar effort to make increasingly individualized patient care a tangible reality in medical practice.
