Obama seeks $215 million for personalized medicine

A hallmark of the 2015 State of the Union address rests in President Obama’s call for a $215 million investment in the Personalized Medicine Initiative. The four-step plan is an undertaking unlike any other in today’s world of pharmacogenomics, and indicates the pertinence of gaining insight into inherited risks that can potentially lead to Adverse Drug Reactions. With bi-partisan support, the initiative is on its way to making personalized medicine a national standard of care.
